🐾 Reggie’s Diary – “Sweaters, Sadness, and the Five Alarm”

Today was awesome. Mom and Dad took me shopping! I strutted through the aisles like I owned the place. I picked out two warm sweaters for winter—one even has a hood, so now I look just like Dad when he wears his hoodie. I’m basically his twin, but with better fur.

The days are getting colder and shorter, which stinks. But you know what that means? Prime napping season. I’ve got blanket forts, couch corners, and sunbeams all lined up for maximum snooze efficiency.

But something’s been off with Dad lately. He had to say goodbye to Ma, the queen of the fish tank. She was a blood parrot fish, and apparently she ruled that tank for over 15 years. I didn’t know fish could have personalities, but Dad says Ma was special. He mentioned a water burial—I don’t know what that is, but it sounds deep. Literally.

Arya and Willow are being sneaky again. They think they can steal pets from Dad and Mom. But let me be clear:

• If Dad is petting someone, he’s petting me.

• If Mom is petting someone, she’s petting me.

• If Mom rubs Dad’s back, I sound the five-alarm siren.

Everyone in the neighborhood needs to know: I’m not getting the attention and runs I deserve.

Tomorrow, I plan to wear my hoodie and demand extra treats. For emotional support, of course.
