Wife wanted “Cousins Maine Lobster”
The lobster grilled cheese was a little bland. I was hoping for some spice since it has pepper jack cheese. I give this a 7/10. normal size sandwich so probably not worth the $21 for it.
The clam chowder soup was pretty good and very chunky. Probably one of the better clam chowders I’ve had. Definitely top 10 and I have tried a ton of clam chowder. Plenty of potatoes – could use more clam. I’ll give this a 8.5/10.
The lobster bisque was ok. Very creamy. The lobster chunks in it were delicious. Definitely could use more lobster. I’ll give this a 6.5/10. if you’re a bisque critic you’ll want to try this but at $10… Seems a bit steep price wise.
Pretty tasty and pretty small. Definitely not enough lobster. The pico and coleslaw drown out the flavor of the lobster altogether. Tortillas are pretty thick which is nice as you don’t have to worry about them breaking easily. as the other flavors drown out the lobster so much I gave these a 5/10 and not worth the $22.
I was real excited when I picked this up. Pretty “heavy” but disappointed about was predominantly all cheese.
The lobster quesadilla was a disappointment. I felt like I paid $22 for a ton of cheese with some morsels of lobster hidden very scantily. Not worth the $22 unless yours has substantially more lobster than the one I ordered. Flavor wise, all I could taste was the cheese. Added pico and sauce for flavor but still couldn’t taste any lobster. Bummer man.
The rolls weee pretty epic. the garlic ones were very garlic, so if you love garlic. This might be just for you. The other roll, Connecticut, my wife got, and that was really good too. I’d give these a 9/10.
All in all?
I thought the lobster was pretty good. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Maine, but from what I remember, this is pretty close. The lobster was done just right. Nice flavor and texture.
The price was a pain point. Probably worth it once in a while if you know they’re in town though. Always good to treat yourself right? Price probably helps pay for their pretty impressive truck.
Tons of “tots” if you get the meal. I couldn’t finish the meal. Too many tots but I bet my sons would demolish it no problem or questions asked.
